ALBURGH- James Hubert Poquette of Alburgh, Vt. passed away on Oct. 4 after a prolonged battle with cancer.
James was born in Saint Albans, Vt. on Aug. 27,1956 to Carl and Janet (Patnaude) Poquette. James was a lifelong resident of Northern Vermont.
James or “Jim” as he was known to those close to him, was a carpenter and accomplished woodworking craftsmen, who took much pride in his creative designs. Jim was a seasoned outdoorsman. He spent much time on the waters of Lake Champlain in his motorboat and canoeing around the Missisquoi River. Jim enjoyed fishing year round and spent many a deer season deep in the Alburgh woods. Jim was a jack of all trades who was happy to lend his skills to family, friends, and neighbors.
Jim was a patron of Alburgh Elementary, Saint Jude’s, and many Native American charities.
James was predeceased by his father Carl and Mother Janet Poquette. Brothers Carly, Paul, Michael, and Ricky Poquette. As well as a sister Karen Jerry.
James is survived by Sisters Alice (Hank) Baker of Shelburne, Donna, Janet “Lynn”, Gale Poquette and Tina Lee all of Saint Albans. In addition, Jim leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
