ENOSBURG FALLS — Yvette B. Gleason, age 83, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the St. Albans Health and Rehab facility following an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 20, 1930 in Stanbridge Est, Quebec Canada, the daughter of the late Rene and Maria (Bechard) Corriveau.
Yvette grew up in Stanbridge Est and attended Bedford High School. On Feb. 2, 1952 she married Robert F. Gleason. Yvette and Bob made their home and raised their children in Richford and Enosburg Falls. She worked several years at the Shoprite and then Grand Union in Enosburg Falls for 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #42 of Enosburg Falls and the Enosburg Falls Country Club. Yvette enjoyed working in her flower gardens at home and at the country club. She also enjoyed golfing and skiing especially with her family. Many people will remember her walking throughout the village daily doing her part to keep the village clean.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert F. Gleason Sr. of Enosburg Falls; her children and their families, Peter and Jean Gleason of Klamath Falls, Ore., and their children, Matthew Laurie and Lindy; Deb and Thomas Shover of Enosburg Falls and their sons, Chris and Tim, David and Jeanne Gleason of Williamsburg, Va., and their children, Sarah, Adam, Kendra, Kelly and Bailey; Maria Gleason of Enosburg Falls and her daughter Melina, Robert Gleason Jr. of Fairfax, William and Barb Gleason of Enosburg Falls and their children, Maria, William “Will” and Devyn; six great grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Stuart Gleason of Enosburg Falls, her sister-in-law, Greta Beaulieu and her husband, Andre, of Enosburg Falls, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Yvette was predeceased by her grandson, Brandon Gleason; her sister, Claire Westover; and her brother, Denis Corriveau.
Yvette’s family wishes to thank the staff at St. Albans Health and Rehab for the loving and compassionate care that she received during her stay there.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Yvette’s committal will take place in the Missisquoi Cemetery in Enosburg Falls.
