HINESBURG — Nick Berno thought he had the throw beat anyway. In the scorebook it was recorded as two errors. Regardless, the Bobwhite senior shortstop, unable to swing the bat with an injured hand, laid down the perfect sacrifice bunt in the seventh inning, setting off a series of wild throws that scored three runs and earned BFA-St. Albans (14-2) its first Metro Division regular season championship, topping Champlain Valley Union 4-3 in a dramatic comeback Saturday.
