ST. ALBANS — Ginny was freed from the ravages of progressive supranuclear palsy on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
She was born Jan. 15, 1936, in Newport to Robert and Claire (Coburn) Hill and married Jan. 16, 1958, to Thomas A. Hall. Ginny graduated from BFA-St. Albans in 1954 and Mary Fletcher Nursing School.
They have three children, Barbara, Thomas and James. In addition to her children and husband, she leaves much loved in-law children, Ross Toof and Marilyn Hall; seven grandchildren, Jake and Amanda Toof, Jodie and Justin Sheehy, Colin, Sarah, Jack, Richard and Flynn Hall; and three great grandchildren, Hardy, Henrik and Holden Toof.
Ginny was charge nurse on the medical-surgical floor at Northwestern Medical Center before retiring in 2002 and then volunteered at the hospital after her retirement where she served on the Incorporators Board. She also enjoyed volunteering at the St. Albans Historical Society and was a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church where she participated in the Faith and Hope Circle.
She loved many people, her immediate and extended family, fellow volunteers, classmates, coworkers and dozen others. She particularly enjoyed watching youth and high school sports.
Her family thanks the staff at St. Albans Healthcare and Rehab for their compassion and excellent care.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. There will be no funeral services.
There are lots of deserving organizations in Franklin County that solicit donations. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions in her name be given to whichever organization the giver chooses.
