ST. ALBANS — Victor Emilo Vasquez a longtime area resident passed away Monday afternoon, Nov. 30, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lima, Peru on April 15, 1921, he was the son of the late Victor and Teofila (Novoa) Vasquez. Victor was 94 years old.
He was educated in Peru and then worked for the Peruvian Government as a Postal Officer. He enjoyed gardening and especially loved Lake Champlain in Vermont, where he enjoyed fishing and ice fishing in the winter. He was a communicant of St. Albans Catholic Family, Holy Guardian Angels Parish.
Survivor include his son, Carlos Vasquez of Peru; his two daughters, Rosa Burge and her husband, John, of St. Albans and Dora Vasquez of St. Albans; his two grandchildren, Marco Antonio Ortiz and Frecia Rocio DeTorero; and two great-grandchildren, Gonzalo and Sebastian all of Peru.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa (Calderon) Vasquez on Feb. 7, 2014; his daughter, Janet R. Vasquez on July 14, 2011, as well as his siblings, Luis, Alipio, Miguel and Fabiola.
Friends may call on Victor’s family Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Heald Chapel with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy officiating.
