ST. ALBANS — There is a competitive race for only one of the 10 seats on the school board for a proposed single school district comprised of Fairfield, St. Albans City and St. Albans Town.

There are three candidates for the two-year seat representing St. Albans Town: Steve Larose, Carolyn Zak and Nina Hunsicker, a current member of the St. Albans Town School Board. There are no candidates for the one year term in the town.

All of the candidates in St. Albans City and Fairfield currently sit either on the Fairfield School Board, the city school board, or the Bellows Free Academy board. Bellows Free Academy high school is the fourth district in the current set up.
