With scarcely enough time to practice outdoors, the Bobwhites opened their season Monday against Middlebury, a team that already had posted a pair of lopsided lacrosse wins aided by a turf field to squeeze in early season practices.

The Panthers looked like the sharper team, even with the stiff April breeze blowing straight across the upper field at Collins-Perley, jumping out to a 6-0 lead early in the second quarter before cruising to a 17-7 final.
