ST. ALBANS — Mr. Thomas Lawrence Carpentier, age 82, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the University of Vermont Medical Center. He was born in Winooski, March 20, 1933, son of the late Lawrence and Lucille (Faford) Carpentier. May 3, 1958, he married Barbara King. Barbara passed away Nov. 13, 2013. Tom graduated from Winooski High School, and St. Michael’s College with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked for 33 years for the Union Carbide Corporation. Tom enjoyed going to the casino, playing lottery scratch off tickets, hunting, reading and studying about WWII, driving around, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Tom is survived by his children, Kellie Lawyer, of Richford, Gregory Carpentier and his wife Marilyn, of Swanton, Steven Carpentier and his companion, Theresa Liberty, of Glover; his grandchildren, Jessee, Petey and Kyle Lawyer, Jasmyn and Shelby Carpentier, and Justin Harnum; his sisters, Claire Blanchard of Burlington, Jackie Kobylarz of N.J, Jean Laroche and her husband Ody of Alburgh, and Susan Wilder of Conn.; a brother, Peter Carpentier and his wife, Melvina, of N.J. Besides his parents and his wife Barbara, Tom was predeceased by his brother, Charles Carpentier.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Chapel. The family will receive condolences at the funeral home, 86 South Main Street, from 10 until the time of the funeral.
