ST. ALBANS — Thomas E. Regan, a lifelong resident of this area passed away peacefully Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Holiday House Residential Care Home with his family at his side.

Born in St. Albans on Oct. 1, 1941, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Caroline (Spear Van Buskirk) Regan.

Tom was a 1960 graduate of St. Mary’s High School where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his classmates and the uniqueness of the St. Mary’s education. He excelled in sports, playing basketball, football and baseball. He appreciated growing up in St. Albans and had a reservoir of memories of events and people, which affected his life.

Tom is survived by his sister, Mary Regan Cashman of Barre, brother James Peter Regan and his wife, Janet, of Boca Raton, Fla., brother, Stephen Regan and wife, Lydia, of Colchester, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Holiday House Staff and to Kattie Anderson for their compassionate care of Tom.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, May 1, 2014, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.

A funeral service will then be held at 2 p.m. in the Heald Chapel, with the Reverend Henry Furman officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery.
