ST. ALBANS – A Mass of Christian Burial for Thelma L. Thuot, who passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, was celebrated Tues., July 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Lake Street, St. Albans by Father Maurice J. Roy. Assisting at the altar was Rev. Mr. Duane Langlois, Deacon, Paul Chabot and Donald Poirier. Mary Jo Gillian was the organist and soloist. The sacred scriptures from the Old and New Testament were read by granddaughters Angie Conger and Gwen Magnant. Proclaiming the Holy Gospel and leading the congregation in the Profession of Faith was Deacon Langlois. Father Roy was the Homilist.
Placing the Pall and Crucifix on Thelma’s casket was her daughter, Denise Magnant and her daughter-in-law, Carol Donor. Presenting the Offertory Gifts was her son, Paul Thuot, and granddaughters Angie and Gwen.
Forming an Honor Guard was large representation of the Ladies of St. Anne, with Rosalie Jacques leading the Ladies in prayer. Also in attendance was representation of Gold Star Mothers, the Dental Office of Dr. Ed Schumer and co-workers of the former Fonda Container Corp. Fond words of remembrance were shared by Thelma’s son-in-law, Laurence Magnant.
The Casket Bearers, all family members, included Thelma’s son, Paul Thuot, daughter-in-law, Carol Doner, son-in-law, Laurence Magnant, and grandsons Peter Doner Jr., Dwayne Doner and Patrick Magnant. Following the Mass, a luncheon was hosted by the Ladies of St. Anne in the Holy Angels Parish Hall.
The interment took place Wed., July 17, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Albans with committal prayers offered by Deacon Langlois.
On Mon., July 15, 2013 a delegation from Green Mountain Post 1, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary attended the visitation and Father Roy conducted a prayer service in the Heald Funeral Home, St. Albans.
