SWANTON VILLAGE — Imagine Sam and Betty’s confusion, drifting along their pool on a sunny Sunday morning, as nearly 200 hot cars, amassing thousands and thousands of horsepower, gradually surround them. And then come the humans.
There were less of both hot cars and onlooking humans at the ninth annual Swanton Car Show. The show’s organizer, Adam Paxman, attributed that to a last-minute date switch, from Saturday to Sunday, in fear of rain, which was, ultimately, a no-show itself.
But don’t think the show wasn’t well attended. Not only were there enough vehicles to surround the entirety of the village green, vehicles parked in double rows around most of the park. Paxman estimated this year’s show featured about 185 vehicles.
