Do you remember Stollman’s Clothing Store when it once existed on Lake Street? Did your mom work there? Did she or your grandmother shop there?
The store was once located on Lake Street on the left as you started down the street. The building still exists today, and it is fairly easy to recognize. It appears that Stollman’s was a nice ladies’ apparel store.
Surprisingly, the museum has nothing from Stollman’s in the form of artifacts. This is a little unusual since the shop was still in business into the 1950s when this photograph was taken.
Do you have memories or artifacts from Stollman’s? If you do, please call the St. Albans Museum at 527-7933 or contact them via stamuseum.org.
