ST. ALBANS —  Stephanie Ann Pfau, 39, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Sunday, March 30, 2014 after a long journey with kidney disease.  She loved her family dearly and was a very special aunt to her niece and nephews.

Born in St. Albans on Feb. 3, 1975, she was a daughter of Michael and Linda (Langlois) Pfau.

Stephanie graduated from BFA-St. Albans in 1993 and Johnson State College in 1999.  She was employed at the Fletcher Allen Hospital as a Licensed Nurse Assistant for seven years, prior to her declining health.   She was an active participant of Donate Life Vermont whose mission is to bring awareness and education to Vermont communities about the important need for organ donors.  Stephanie will be remembered for her fiery spirit and quiet determination.  Her warmth and generosity was shown in her love of painting, cooking and especially gardening.

She leaves her loving parents, Michael and Linda Pfau of St. Albans, her loving sisters, brother and their families:  Vickie Alekson and her husband, Mike, and their sons, Charlie and Ben of Stowe, Heidi Pfau and her partner, Amanda Robie, of Underhill, and George Pfau and his fiancée, Michelle, and their daughter, Emma of St. Albans, her loving pet Pipi , several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to thank the St. Albans Dialysis Unit, the Fletcher Allen Intensive Care team and many other health professionals for their compassionate care.

A celebration of Stephanie’s life will be held Friday, April 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Deacon Duane Langlois officiating, in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main St., St. Albans, VT.  A time for visitation will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to the hour of the service.
