NORFOLK, Va. — Shirley Pelkey Cadieux, 77, of Warren Mass., left on her final journey June 21, 2014 as the sun began to shine upon through the clouds in the sky.
She left this world in the arms of her daughter, Lisa Pope, who never left her side, son-in-law Bill, friends Bill Lee and Rebecca Dailey.
Born in Fairfax, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Hazel King Pelkey. She was predeceased by the love of her life and former husband, Leon C. Cadieux, brothers Robert, Francis, Ronald, Raymond Jr. and Arnold.
Left to live out her dreams and cherish Shirley’s memory are her daughters Lisa Cadieux Pope and husband, Bill, of Norfolk, Va., Nancy Flynn of Brimfield, Mass., David Cadieux and wife, Sherry, of Ware, Mass., Bruce Cadieux and wife, Susan, of Wales, Mass. Grandchildren whom she adored and loved so dearly are Nicholas, Tyler, and Trenton of Norfolk, Va., Brian (Bobbi), Chris (Tara), Erin (Gabriel), Matthew (Deidre), Michael (Tara) of Massachusetts, great-grandchildren Rian, Aubrey, Valencia, Gabriel, Addison, Maxwell, Haley, Navaeh, Jordan, and Savannah.
Sisters Beverly Hargraves of Ocala, Fla., Sandra Mattson and husband, Edwin of Fitzwilliam, N.H., brother Reginald (Pete) Pelkey of Fitzwilliam, N.H., and a host of other family member and special friends from Virginia to Massachusetts. She loved and cherished each and every one of you.
Shirley was a woman of strong character. She had a feisty spirit, and loved life. She fought her illness until the very end. Shirley’s final wish, to take a car trip to see her sisters and family members, was cut short by the Lord who had different plans for her.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday, June 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, N.H. (www.foleyfuneralhome.com)
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH on Saturday morning, June 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene.
A memorial service will be scheduled in Norfolk, Virginia at a later date.
