ST. ALBANS – Shirley C. Plattner, a resident of St. Albans since 2000, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at the Northwestern Medical Center.
Born in Center Lisle, N.Y., on June 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth (Machler) Plattner. Shirley was 85 years old.
Shirley was a registered nurse and worked at hospitals in Chicago, Florida, Boston, the Veterans Hospital in Framingham, Mass., and also the former Kerbs Memorial Hospital in St. Albans. She furthered her education by becoming a Nurse Anesthetist.
Survivors include her brothers, Walter Plattner and his wife, Phyllis, of St. Albans and Alois Plattner and his wife, Brenda, of St. Albans and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
