RICHFORD — Shane M. Hoague, age 37, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 31, 2014 in Sheldon.

He was born in St. Albans on March 5, 1977 the son of Janette (Hurlbut) Hoague and the late Wayne Hoague.

Shane was a member of the Abenaki community. He learned how to drive truck while working for Chris Oliver Trucking and eventually started his own company called S & S Hoague Trucking. Shane loved music and KISS was his favorite band; he did some DJ work at J.D.’s Pub and frequently went to concerts. His favorite car was the Ford Mustang and he was very proud of his “adult” toy collection of model tractors and trains.

He leaves behind his wife, June (Russin) Hoague of Richford; his children, Kerria Hoague of Vernon, Vt., and Lily Beaulieu of Berkshire; step-children, Alexis Kellom of Vernon, Vt., Leah Russin and Katie, Bethany, Thomas and Tyler Gleason all of Richford; his mother, Janette Hoague of Swanton; two sisters, Raven Hoague of Swanton and Debby Barrett and her husband, Alan, of St. Albans; three brothers, Kevin Hoague and his wife, Audrey, of New Hampshire, Danny Hoague and his wife, Angie, of Highgate and Wayne Hoague Jr. and his wife, Faye, of Ludlow, Vt.; two special aunts, Colleen Mills and her partner, Bill Russell, of Enosburg and Billie Westcom and her husband, Kirt, of East Fairfield and several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Shane was predeceased by his brother, Skyler Hoague and his sister, Wanda Widden.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be this spring in the Riverside Cemetery in Swanton.
