BURLINGTON — Ruth Tabor Lemnah, 81, joined her Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 16, 2014. Ruth died peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born on April 3, 1932, the beloved daughter of Azos and Helen Lemnah. She attended Fairfield School and graduated from Bellows Free Academy in 1950.
Ruth was a proud retiree of the New England Telephone Company, providing 37 years of dedicated service in management. She enjoyed traveling with her close friends, exploring such memorable destinations as Hawaii, Ireland, and Rome. She also passed many warm and pleasurable winters in Florida with her dear friend Bobbi Oates. Ruth especially loved spending time with her family, taking her nieces and nephews on many exciting excursions. All of Ruth’s 26 nieces and nephews remember times spent with her in Fairfield at the Howrigan and Branon sugar houses sampling the new crop of warm maple syrup and the many fun-filled family reunions that brought joy and laughter to all…and many photographs taken by Ruth, to capture important moments of their lives.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents; and brothers and their spouses, Robert and Myra, Carleton and Madeline, Harold, Alan; and sisters, Austine (Paul) Desautels, and Marion Reynolds. She is survived by her 26 nieces and nephews, and her sisters-in-law, Marlene Lemnah and Theresa Lemnah. She also leaves her very best friend, Roberta Oates.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Susan Viens, her faithful niece, for her limitless devotion and loving care, to the staff at The Arbors in Shelburne who made Ruth’s journey as carefree as possible and to the Converse Home in Burlington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Fairfield on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 21 at the Brady and Levesque Funeral Home, 86 Main Street, St. Albans.
