SHELDON SPRINGS — Roy T. Peno I, age 63, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013 at Fletcher Allen Healthcare. He was born in St. Albans, May 4, 1950, son of the late Arthur and Anna (Ashline) Peno. He married Betty Cameron, Sept. 15, 1972. He served his country in the Vermont National Guard. Roy was a Senior Heavy Equipment Operator for the St. Albans City Public Works Department, retiring in 2010. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1.
Roy is survived by his wife, Betty, sons Roy T. Peno II and his wife, Sarah Rumsby, all of St. Albans, Michael D. Peno and his fiancé, Michelle Robtoy, and Matthew A. Peno, his daughter Danielle S. Peno, all of Sheldon Springs, 14 grandchildren, two sisters, Barbara Baily and her husband, Gerald, and Shirley Ovitt, all of St. Albans. Roy was predeceased by his son Arthur Peno, his sisters Anna Martell, Margaret Pion and her husband, Reo, and his brother William Peno and his wife, Eleanor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, with Father Maurice Roy celebrating. Interment will be in the Peno family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brady and Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
