He was born June 8, 1945 in St. Albans, the son of the late Lyndon and Eleanor (Boardman) McAllister.

The love for his family and friends was unconditional and will never be forgotten. He will always be remembered for the endless strength, love and devotion that he provided for his loved ones. Roy frequently quoted “I may not be rich but I am rich with skin”

Roy worked as a Union sheet metal worker for Local #63 out of Springfield, Mass. He then owned and operated McAllister’s Certified Heating and later helped his sons establish McAllister’s Fuels.

He is survived by his wife, Sally (Rowley) McAllister. Roy and Sally were married on Sept. 25, 1964. He is also survived by his seven children, Chuck McAllister and his partner, Nancy Burns, of Enosburg Falls, Ronda McAllister of Berkshire and her partner, Jon Johnson, Rossie Charron and her husband, Reme, of Richford, Nancy Leach of Enosburg Falls, Lyndon “Buck” McAllister and his wife, Jamie, of Richford, Robert McAllister and his wife, Shawna, of Richford, and Roy “Opie” McAllister II and his fiancé, Kristin Baker, of Montgomery. He leaves behind 17 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren with his 8th to be born soon. He also leaves behind his sister, Sandra Hurtubise and her husband, Wayne, of Richford; brother, Gary McAllister and his wife, Suzie, of Enosburg Falls; his sister, Linda Lothian and her husband, Steve, of St. Albans; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vaughn and Judi Button of New York; and a very special friend, Dan Bartlette of Berkshire.
