ALBURGH SPRINGS — Robert “Bobby” Benjamin, age 67 years, died early Thursday afternoon, Sept. 3, 2015 in a tragic automobile accident in Swanton.
Bobby’s longtime friend and companion Diane Bohannon also died in that same accident.
Born in Burlington on, Oct. 6, 1947, he was the son of the late Mark and Laurenza (Leduc) Benjamin. He attended Alburgh schools and for all of his working life assisted in the operation of the family dairy farm in Alburgh Springs.
He was a lifelong member of St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Church and will be remembered for his love of animals especially caring for his many cats.
Bobby leaves his brothers, Larry Benjamin and his wife Wendy of Alburgh Springs and Anthony Veilleux and companion Donna of Coventry. Also surviving is a sister Carman Lanoue of Alburgh Springs as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. Father Thomas D. Nadeau will officiate. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at St. Amadeus Cemetery in Alburgh.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.
