ST. ALBANS – Robert “Bob” Bailey, Sr., 73, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at St. Albans Healthcare and Rehab Center with his family present.

Born in Vergennes on Oct. 3, 1941, he was a son of the late Herbert C. and Ernestine (Warner) Bailey.  Robert was married to the former Linda Mathies, who predeceased him in 1981.

Prior to becoming disabled many years ago, Bob was a construction worker.  He volunteered at Martha’s Kitchen and the Harbor Club.  He was a member of the Shooters Pool League and the St. Albans Horseshoe League.

Bob leaves a son, Robert C. Bailey, Jr. and his longtime girlfriend, Angela Benoit, of and their son, Cameron of Swanton, a daughter, Robin J. Bailey of St. Albans, a brother, Gerald “Beatle” Bailey and his wife, Barbara, of St. Albans, four sisters, Ernestine Chevrier and husband, Armand, of Swanton, June Fair and husband, Roger, of Montpelier, Mae Higbee of Burlington and Geraldine Nichols and husband, Ralph, of New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was predeceased by a brother, Herbert “Sonny” Bailey and sisters, Joan Bailey and Stella Weltz.

Family and friends may call at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans on Friday, July 24, 2015, from 5 to 6 p.m., with a Memorial Service immediately following. Rev. Mr. John Place officiating.
