SWANTON / LEXINGTON, Ky. – Rita Ste. Marie, of Lexington, Ky., (formally a Vermonter), age 86, died on Friday, July 12 at Hospice of the Bluegrass of Alzheimer’s complications.

Born in Magog, Canada, on May 15, 1927, of Arthur and Marianna LeBlanc. Rita and her husband, Francis owned and operated a store and meat market in Vermont. She retired in Lake Worth, Fla., before settling in Lexington.

Rita is pre-deceased by three brothers and one sister.

She leaves her beloved husband, Francis, of 65 years. She leaves her two sons Mike Ste. Marie, and Phil and wife, MaryLou Ste. Marie, and daughter, Diane Ste. Marie. She leaves five grandchildren Tracy Ste. Marie and husband, Daniel Yohannes, Christopher and wife, Jamie Ste. Marie, Chad Ste. Marie and Shanna, Chelsie and husband, Christian Novak, and Bethany Anderson. She leaves three great-grandchildren Nico, Zachery, and Camryn; and one great-grandson on the way.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 22, 2013, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St. Swanton. The Reverend Monsignor Peter A. Routhier, Vicar General, will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow on Tuesday July 23, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Ste. Marie family lot in Notre Dame Roman Catholic Cemetery, North Troy.

Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
