SWANTON/ST. ALBANS —Rebecca C. Malchiodi a longtime area resident and winter resident of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the Vermont Respite House with her loving family at her side.

Born in St. Albans, on Jan. 14, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Austin and Marian (Domey) Chaffee. Rebecca was 71 years old.

Rebecca was a 1962 graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans and for several years she was employed at R.L. Vallee, Inc., Peoples Trust Company, J&L Foundation in Fairfax and in New Hartford, Conn., with Marindino’s Foods.

Survivors include her husband, Peter, of Swanton and Lake Havasu City; her children, Alan Coupal and his wife, Lyn, of Georgia and Ann Eaton and her husband, Bob, of South Burlington; step-daughter, Amy Barnet and her husband, Glenn, of South Africa, as well as her grandchildren, Duncan, Jeremiah, Ciara, Ethan, Eva, Elli and Erik. She is also survived by step-daughters,  Tammy Curtis, Terry Hazard Martell and Tina Laroche.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the American Legion, 100 Parah Drive, St. Albans.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rebecca’s name may be made to the Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Road, Williston, Vermont  05495.
