ENOSBURG FALLS – Raymond “Roger” Paquette, age 79, passed away Friday Aug. 12, 2016 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born Sept. 4, 1936 in Sheldon, the son of the late Lucien and Marie Antoinette (Martel) Paquette.
Roger was a resident of the Enosburg Falls area most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. In his earlier years he owned and operated automotive garages in Enosburg Falls and Richford. Along with his wife, Anne Marie, he also owned and operated Paquette’s Crafts and Things until his health caused him to retire. They made various wood crafts including, cabinets, shelves, windmills, wishing wells birdhouses and lawn ornaments. He enjoyed working on his trucks, fishing, woodworking, dancing, listening to country music, watching birds and having afternoon coffee with his friends at the former Leon’s Diner.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Marie (Beauregard) Paquette of Enosburg Falls with whom he had shared his life with since 1985 and married on Dec. 22, 1999. He is also survived by his children, Brenda Elwood and her husband, Ricky, of Enosburg Falls, Kathy Paquette of Hyde Park, Norma Roberts and her fiancé, Eric Vachon, of Enosburg Falls, Gerard Roberts and his wife, Jennifer, of Enosburg Falls, and David Roberts and his wife, Kaley, of Enosburg Falls; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; his brother, Leo Coulombe of Berkshire; his former son-in-law, David Wetherby of Berkshire; and his faithful canine companions, Pacey and Storm.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 at 6 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT with Pastor Tim Stetson officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
