ST. ALBANS — Mrs. Phyllis R. (Longley) Rivers, age 83, passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 at Redstone Villa.  She was born Aug. 12, 1932 in Jay, daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Mahew) Longley.  She married Frank Rivers Oct. 3, 1949.  Mr. Rivers predeceased her Feb. 14, 1988.  Phyllis worked as a seamstress for the Maternity Corporation, and as a machine operator for the New England Can Corporation retiring in 1993.  She was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church.  She enjoyed making crafts, listening to Danny O’Donnell music, flowers, bird watching, and taking care of the animals of her neighborhood.

Phyllis is survived by her sister Theresa Ladieu of Pensacola, Fla.; her brothers Roger Longley and his wife Shirley of St. Albans, Robert Longley and his wife Anita of Vernon, and Richard Longley of Richford; and several nieces nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank, her sister Cecile Sweetser, and brothers Ralph and Leo Longley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Interment will follow in the Rivers family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
