ST. ALBANS — Mrs. Phyllis C. Murray passed away Monday morning, April 13, 2015 at Northwestern Medical Center at the age of 86.  Phyllis was born Sept. 23, 1928, daughter of the late Ernest Arthur and Edith (Todd) Contois in Montreal, Quebec.  She attended Richford High School and graduated from Norwich High in 1946.  Her career began in 1951 with the Central Vermont Railroad Credit Union in St. Albans, until retiring in 1994 as treasurer.  Phyllis married Raymond Murray on July 9, 1955.

Phyllis leaves one son, Matthew Murray of St. Albans, a sister-in-law Claire Contois of Williston, close nieces JoAnn Schroeder of Richford and Susan Klien of Oakland, Calif., and two special friends, Lynn Gorkun and Richard Serpe, several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond, two sisters Ernestine Harvey and Madeline Johnson, one brother Charles Contois and one nephew William “Bill” Johnson.

Phyllis’s family would like to thank the staff at Northwestern Medical Center for their kindness during her illness.

Funeral services will be private at her request.  Memorials may be made to the Central Vermont Agency on Aging, directed to the Senior Companion Program, or Meals on Wheels Program, or the Franklin County Humane Society, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans, VT 05478.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.
