ALBURGH — Pearl ‘Dawn’ Reynolds, age 93 years, a lifelong Alburgh resident died peacefully Tuesday evening, May 10, 2016, in the Birchwood Terrace Healthcare Center with loving family at her side.
Born in Alburgh on April 8, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah (Bell) Pero. She attended Alburgh schools and was married to John Wheeler Reynolds who predeceased her on, Dec. 20, 2000.
Dawn was a member of the Island in the Sun Senior Citizens of Alburgh, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Montpelier and the American Legion, Creller-Landon Post 60 Auxiliary in Alburgh, Historical Society of Alburgh and Champlain Islanders Developing Essential Resources.
In her earlier years, Dawn ran her family farm and was associated with Thermal Wire of South Hero, Softlite of Swanton and St. Anne’s Shrine in Isle La Motte.
She leaves her daughter, Debby Dowling and husband Francis of Milton; their two children, Meghan and Francis; her son, John C. Reynolds of Swanton, and his children, Newton and spouse, Darlene, Jason and spouse, Jessica of Alburgh; a daughter-in-law, Penny Pero, of the late husband Bernard Pero, from North Hero and children, Bernard Pero II and spouse, Rae; Bernadette Toth and spouse, Steve; Leslie Pero Patton and spouse, Aaron; Haley Pero and Chanti Slora and spouse, Scott; fifteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren as well as several very special nieces and nephews.
Family members predeceased include her son, Bernard Pero; a grandson, Earl Pero; her twin, Earl; a sister, Catherine Benjamin; and brothers George and Melvin.
At Dawn’s request there will be no public calling hours.
A Graveside Funeral Service and Interment will be held Saturday May 21, 2016 at noon from the Reynolds family lot in Bush Cemetery, Alburgh. The Reverend Mr. Duane Langlois will officiate.
