ACTON, Mass. — Paul T. Branon, 80, of Acton, Mass. died peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Fairfield, he was the youngest of 10 children of E. Frank and Mary (Barry) Branon. He was predeceased by seven brothers and two sisters. Mr. Branon was a graduate of St. John’s Prep in Danvers and the College of the Holy Cross, Class of 1958. He proudly served our country as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force/SAC as a combat ready crew member of the B-47, and was a local business owner.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary (Dunphy) Branon; their children Kimberley Kalinowski and husband, Kenneth, of Lunenburg, Kelley McCarthy and husband, Garry, of Acton, P. Scott Branon of San Diego, Cal, and Jennifer Nelson and husband R. Todd Nelson of San Diego, Calif. He was the loving grandfather of Anna and Nicholas McCarthy, P. Blake and M. Katharine Branon, and R. Dillon and Bridger Nelson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends were invited to visiting hours on Friday, July 22 from 4-8 p.m. at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111), Acton. The funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, July 23 at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 89 Arlington Street, Acton. Burial was private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
