Shelley Smith and Philip Martinson

ST. ALBANS - Mr. and Mrs. Blair and Diane Smith of St. Albans are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelley Lynn Smith to Philip Mitchell Martinson, son of Wynn and Joanne Martinson of Huntley, Montana.

Shelley graduated in 2009 from the University of Akron with dual Masters Degrees in flute performance and music history. She is currently a doctoral candidate and teaching assistant at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla.

Philip graduated from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in 2011 with a Masters degree in trombone performance. He currently teaches music theory and applied brass lessons at Mason's School of Music in Tallahassee, Fla., and performs with the Ocala Symphony Orchestra.

A September 1, 2012 wedding is planned.
