HICKORY, N.C. — Nikola Schelon DeGrechie , 68, of Hickory, was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice surrounded by friends and family.

Born Oct. 29, 1945 in Littlefield, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Robert James DeGrechie and the late Merle Lynskey DeGrechie.

Ms. DeGrechie was employed at Hanes Industries in Conover. She graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1964 and continued her education at UNC Chapel Hill.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Wrenn Warlick and husband, Tracy, their children, Taylor and Trey Warlick, all of Hickory, N.C.; son, Timothy Reuben Wrenn, Jr. and wife, Lilly, of Verona, N.J.; granddaughter, Sidney Wuest of Kentucky; three brothers: Mike DeGrechie of Goldsboro, N.C., Tony DeGrechie and wife, Gina, of Las Vegas, Nev., Jeff DeGrechie and wife, Kathy, of Rochester, N.H.; soul sisters: Carol Matney of Prosperity, S.C., Ann Drum of Knoxville, Tenn., Kay Jones of Raleigh, N.C.; step-mother, Donna Brewer DeGrechie of Alburg, Vt.; former sister-in-law, Marian DeGregchie of Goldsboro, N.C.; and many loving nieces and nephews.
