Woman faces up to 8 years in jail

ST. ALBANS CITY –– A St. Albans woman has denied charges that she caused more than $6,000 worth of damage to cars and buildings in St. Albans last month.
Shannon Lussier, 33, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to three counts of misdemeanor unlawful mischief and a felony count of the same charge.

Salaries at $1.27 million in 2009

ST. ALBANS TOWN — With total operating revenues of more than $2 million in 2008, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office takes in more revenue annually than all but three Franklin County communities.
It’s a large and complicated operation involving multiple contracts, all led by Sheriff Bob Norris, whose annual salary for last year was $112,000.

Town’s tax rate rises 2.42 cents

ST. ALBANS TOWN — The total tax rate for St. Albans Town residents for next year will be $1.4726, that is the rate charged per hundred thousand dollars of assessed value.
Last year’s rate was $1.4484, making the increase 2.42 cents.

Arrest made in string of vandalism

ST. ALBANS CITY –– Police here have made a third arrest in connection with a rash of vandalism that occurred in June, and they expect to make one more.
On Friday, police arrested Shannon Lussier, 33, of St. Albans, on three counts of misdemeanor unlawful mischief and one count of felony unlawful mischief for incidents of vandalism that occurred June 19 and 20.

ST. ALBANS CITY –– June was a vandalism-filled month for St. Albans City, and July has started on the same note.
During the overnight hours, city police responded to four separate and serious acts of vandalism in different sections of St. Albans, and a St. Albans Town man was arrested in connection with one of them.

RICHFORD — A Boston-area school principal will be taking over the Richford High School beginning in a couple of weeks.

David Perrigo, formerly principal of the New Mission School in Roxbury, Mass., accepted the position of principal on Friday, according to school superintendent Jay Nichols.

The board interviewed four candidates from a pool of approximately 20, Nichols said.
