ST. ALBANS/SUNSET, LA. — John Hoy and Mary Hoy, of St. Albans, along with Keith and Ginger Myers of Sunset, Louisiana, are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Chelsea Myers and Derek Hoy.

Derek is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Hoy of St. Albans, Vermont and of Mrs. Beverly Whelan and the late Mr. Jack Whelan of Syracuse, New York. He is a graduate of Bellows Free Academy, a graduate of St. John’s University in Queens, New York with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree, and a graduate of Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, with a Master of Catholic Higher Education Administration degree. He is currently employed as an administrator at Boston College’s Roche Center for Catholic Education and as an organist at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Brighton, Massachusetts. He is also pursing a Master of Business Administration degree at Boston College.

Chelsea is a graduate of Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, Louisiana, a graduate of Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology, and a graduate of Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, with a Master of Theological Studies degree. She is currently employed as a social worker at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton, Massachusetts while she completes a Master of Clinical Social Work degree at Boston College. In August, she will begin fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital.

The couple will be united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on August 15, 2015, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, Louisiana.
After the wedding, the couple plans to reside in Boston.
