ST. ALBANS — Mrs. Madeline H. Raleigh, age 81, died Friday morning, Oct. 30, 2015, in the St. Albans Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in St. Albans, Feb. 10, 1934, daughter of the late Henry and Cecile (Jette) Lemnah. She worked for many years as a LNA for Redstone Nursing Home, and many private homes. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #1, and was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church. She enjoyed antiquing, reading, crossword puzzles, knitting, and visiting with friends.
She is survived by her daughter Merrilyn Pequignot and her husband Robert of Alburgh; her son Michael Bessette and his wife Ardelle of Sheldon; her grandchildren Shannon Bessette, Courtney and Clint King, Travis Minckler, Jason and Susie Stoddard, and Martin Stoddard; 5 great-grandchildren; her sister Linda Hutchins and her husband John of Montpelier; her brother Donald Lemnah and his wife Louise of Lake Grove, N.Y., along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased buy her daughter Marlene Bessette, her brother Henry Lemnah, and husband Arnold Raleigh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. The family will receive condolences at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
