Montgomery house lost in fire

MONTGOMERY — Police are investigating an early Wednesday morning fire at 3130 South Main St. here.

Firefighters from three departments were called to the scene at around 1:20 a.m. Montgomery Fire Chief William Baker, Sr., reported the home was a total loss. All three residents escaped unharmed.

Owned by William and Mary Malaussena, police report the house was valued at approximately $150,000.

Officers from the Vermont State Police Fire Investigation Unit are looking into the cause of the fire. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 524-5993.
