SHELDON — Monica Kay Kittell, 82, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 5, with her family by her side.

Monica was born on July 16, 1933 in Stowe, the daughter of Thomas and Lillian (Bovat) Fitzgerald. On May 9, 1953, she married Stanley S. Kittell. Together they made their home and raised their children (Portia, Carrie, Alan and Dean) on the Kittell Family farm in Sheldon.

Monica’s greatest joys were watching her grandchildren grow, camping, her pets and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her children, Monica is survived by eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Alan and this past June, by her husband of 62 years, Stanley.

A graveside gathering will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. in the Sheldon Cemetery. Afterwards, family, friends and neighbors are invited to a celebration of Monica’s life at her granddaughter’s home (376 Rt. 36 in Fairfield).
