GEORGIA — Matthew Steven Pratt “Matty/Muncle”, 34, of Georgia, Vermont passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 20, 2015. Matthew came into this world on November 22, 1980. He was born in Burlington, Vermont to his beloved mother, Brenda Clark of Winooski and father, Steven Pratt of Jericho. He grew up in St. Albans, Vermont, attended Bellows Free Academy where he graduated from in 1999. He later attended the Community College of Vermont and the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.
Matthew also lived in Chicopee, Massachusetts with his longtime girlfriend, Sara Bushey, for several years before returning to Vermont in 2013. Even though Sara and Matthew were not officially married, they shared over ten years together as companions and best friends. They shared their life together and traveled on many adventures whether it was a weekend away to Boston or all over creation chasing Matt’s favorite band, Godsmack. Outside of his business, Matt’s love for sports was unmatched and he took great pride in his teams the Patriots, Canadiens, and Red Sox. If you ever needed to know what year a song or movie came out, especially one from the 80’s, Matt was your man. Conversations were often filled with laughter as Matthew came out with one movie quote after another.
He had the biggest heart imaginable. We will remember him as someone who was always huggable, kind, funny, always up for a good time, embarrassingly honest, and as someone who would never intentionally hurt a soul. He found so much joy in being with his close friends and family, and would chomp at the bit to be by their sides. Matthew was the owner and operator of Soap N Sudz Detail Works. He was proud of his work and loved nothing more than working out of his garage and helping his many customers.
Matthew is survived by his mother, Brenda Clark and her partner, Paul Brown, of Essex Junction, his father, Steven Pratt, of Williston; his sisters, Natasha Pratt and fiancée, Matthew White, of Burlington and Michelle Draper and husband, Brian Draper, of St. Albans; his nieces Mikaela, Hailee, Taegan, Morgan and Amelia and nephew Sidney; cousins, aunts and uncles, his girlfriend Sara Bushey and her family, and close friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So Main Street, St. Albans on Friday, February 27, 2015, from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM.
