GEORGIA — Marie D. (Rua) Esposito, 93, of Georgia (formerly of Kingston, N.Y.) passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born on June 6, 1922 in East Kingston, N.Y., the daughter of the late Peter and Josephine LaRocca Rua.

Marie was married to Orlando N. Esposito on Dec. 14, 1952. He predeceased her in February of 1994. She resided in her home in Kingston until 2009 and then moved to Georgia to live with her son and daughter-in-law.

Marie was a seamstress in the garment industry in her earlier years. She was a loving wife, mother, and wonderful mother-in-law and grandmother. Her family was everything to her and her greatest joys were her grandchildren, Chris and Kathryn. She will be remembered for her strong faith in God, her generosity towards others, her beautiful crocheted Afghans, and her delicious baking.

She leaves behind her son Mark and his wife, Linda, and her two cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Kathryn of Georgia, as well as her sister Josephine Carpino of Lake Katrine, N.Y. She was predeceased by her loving brothers: James, Henry, Frank, Peter, Anthony and Frank Rua Sr., and her dear sisters: Rose Tiano, Marie Rua, and Teresa Legregni. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give sincere thanks to the staff at the Homestead in St. Albans and Franklin County Home Health and Hospice for their gifts of caring, kindness and friendship during Marie’s time there.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s cemetery in Kingston, N.Y. Visiting our hours will be on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, from 4 to 7p.m., at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home in Kingston, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marie’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
