ST. ALBANS — Mrs. Margaret L. Bloomer Morgan, age 93, died Wednesday evening, Aug. 13, 2014, at Northwestern Medical Center. She was born at St. Albans Bay, Sept. 5, 1920, daughter of the late Clarence and Laura (Rich) Aldrich. She married Edward Bloomer. After Mr. Bloomer passed away, she married Boyd Morgan. Mr. Morgan died in 1997. Margaret worked as a nurse’s aid both in hospitals and private residences. Her most rewarding time was spent as a foster grandmother for the Foster Grandparent Program. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Parish and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary Unit #758.
Margaret is survived by her son John Bloomer and his wife, Diana, of Montgomery Center, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother John Aldrich and his, wife Fran, of Maryland, her sisters Lucille Brown and her husband, Curtis, and Dorothy Dussault all of St. Albans, Shirley Able and Joan Pauley of North Carolina, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her two husbands, her brothers Vincent and Boyd Aldrich, and a sister Theresa Aldrich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church. Interment will follow in the Bloomer family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery.
