PROSPECT, Conn. — Lucille E. (Smith) Bissonnette, age 92, widow of Lyle A. Bissonnette, passed away on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS Hospice Unit surrounded by her family and friends.
Lucille was born in St. Albans on Dec. 12, 1922, daughter of the late Frank & Margaret (Peno) Smith. She lived in Prospect for the last six years after having lived in Jacksonville, Fla. for more than 30 years and Naugatuck, Conn. more than 20 years. Mrs. Bissonnette had worked at Uniroyal and SNET in Conn. and for Sears and their own Amoco service station while in Jacksonville, Fla. She also loved her game shows and solving crossword puzzles.
She leaves her daughter Nancy Hanson and her husband Andy of Naugatuck, Conn.; her grandchildren, Gregg Hanson and his wife Alicia (Gabriel) of Wolcott, Conn. and Margaret Hanson and her husband Alex Myska of Waterbury, Conn.; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Thomas R. Smith of Sun City, Fla.
Her funeral was held on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial / Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, Conn. to St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck, Conn. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in St. Albans, Vt. on Monday Oct. 26, 2015 in Mount Calvary Cemetery at 1 p.m.
