ST. ALBANS — Kim Allyn Barrett Gross, 65, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.

Born in St. Albans, July 9, 1950, she was a daughter of Kenneth Alvin “Stubby” Barrett who passed away Feb. 27, 2015, and Elizabeth Mildred “Libby” Guyette Barrett who passed away Dec. 14, 2014.

Kim graduated from BFA – St. Albans in 1968 and married Vaughn Paul Gross Dec. 1, 1968 at the family home. In 1987, she received her Bachelors of Science Degree from UVM. Kim was employed by the Department of Homeland Security as a supervisor at the Immigration and Naturalization office.  Prior to that, she was employed by the State of Vermont, first as a dispatcher for the State Police and later worked at the Department of Corrections. In her formative years, Kim attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in St. Albans.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards and her pets.

She leaves her husband, Vaughn Paul Gross of St. Albans; her daughter, Jennifer Lynn Gross of Stockbridge, Vt. and her son, Vaughn Clark Gross of Worcester, Mass.; her sister and brother-in-law, Wendy and Dennis Nadeau of Highgate; and her in- laws and their spouses, Kathryn and Walter Peno of St. Albans, John and Charlene Gross of Sheldon, Nancy and William Morey of East Fairfield, Emily and Clifton Britch of Swanton and Sally and Leonard Charron of Enosburgh Falls as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, Sep. 3, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. Funeral services for Kim will be held Friday, Sep. 4, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel.
