ST. ALBANS — Mr. Kent Stanley LaCross, age 92, passed away April 1, 2016 at the Birchwood Terrace Nursing Facility in Burlington. He was born in Berkshire, Nov. 22, 1923, son of the late Victor Sr. and Hazel (Stanley) LaCross. Kent served our country during World War II in the U.S. Army, and was ex-POW, captured in July of 1944 and released in April of 1945. He was honorably discharged in November of 1945.

May 2, 1947 he married Marguerite ‘Peg’ Morgan. Mrs. LaCross passed away Dec. 27, 1999. Kent worked for the New England Telephone Company as a Switchman, retiring in 1982. Kent was a member of the American Legion Post #1, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #758. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, music, playing cards to include bridge, and traveling.

Kent is survived by his son Phillip LaCross, and his wife, Lucille, of Georgia; his daughters Cheryl Lagrow of Concord, N.H., and Susan St. Pierre and her husband, Gary, of Sheldon; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sisters, Nathalie Morin of Concord, N.H., Betty Cather of Benbrook, Texas, and Dale Machia of Auburn, N.Y.; a brother, Vaughn LaCross of Enosburgh; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and wife, Peg, Kent was predeceased by his sisters, Eldora LaCross and Jaunita Larose, and brothers Victor LaCross, Jr, Leroy LaCross, and Darwin LaCross.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 3 p.m. in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Chapel. The family will receive condolences at the funeral home, 86 South Main St., from 1 PM until the time of the funeral. Interment will be in the LaCross family lot in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery later this spring.
