NORTHFIELD — Joyce Marie Densmore, 53, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin.  She was born in St. Albans on Oct. 21, 1960, the daughter of Herbert and Marjorie (Scott) Bates. She is a graduate of Bellows Free Academy High School in St. Albans, class of 1978. She earned a Masters Degree in Psychology from Johnson State College, class of 1991.

She had been married to Robert Harding. She married Craig Densmore in Northfield on Oct. 20, 2007.

She had worked for the Blue Lion Restaurant, owned and operated a day care at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, both of St. Albans, Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury, Howard Mental Health in Burlington and Central Vermont Substance Abuse Center in Berlin.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church in St. Albans. She enjoyed puzzles, writing, drawing, sewing, crochet, quilting and was a woman of great faith.

Survivors include her husband, Craig; her son, Joshua Harding, both of Northfield; three brothers, Clifford Bates of Fairfield, Gary Bates of Georgia, Rene Bates of St. Albans; two sisters, Nancy Girard of Connecticut, Carol Masden of St. Albans; a special, niece, Tammy White as well as many other nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by a sister, Lillian Paternostro.

There are no calling hours.  A memorial service to celebrate her life will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. at the Kingston Funeral Home 35 Slate Avenue, Northfield.
