ST. ALBANS — Mr. John R. Ouellet, age 83, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 6, 2014 at the St. Albans Health and Rehab Center. He was born in St. Albans on April 9, 1931, son of the late Thomas and Aurimina (Pare) Ouellet. John served his country in the Vermont National Guard. He married Monica Langevin. Mrs. Ouellet died in 1993. John was brakeman for the Central Vermont Railway and he owned the St. Albans Bay Store. John also was a police officer for the St. Albans Police Department, and was a correctional officer for the Franklin County Correctional Center. He was a member of Holy Angels Parish, the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree Assembly 1149 in St. Albans, and the Harbor Club.

John is survived by his daughters Paula Jean Saili and her husband, William, of Washington, and Kym Stewart and her husband, Craig, of St. Albans, his grandchildren Alan, Adam, Chrystal, Scott, Sara, Stacy and Heather. John was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Monica, his sons Marc and Kirt Ouellet, his sisters Loretta Ouellet, Sister Martha Ouellet, Sister Lucille Ouellet, and Marion Kelley, his brothers Paul and Thomas Ouellet, and Father Maurice Ouellet.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Interment will follow in the Ouellet family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
