CARTER HILL, HIGHGATE CENTER — Jason Pierre “J.J.” Ferland, age 35 years, died Monday afternoon, May 11, 2015, at the University of Vermont Medical Center with loving family at his side.
Born in St. Albans on, May 15, 1979, he was the son of Pierre and Dianne (Thompson) Ferland and maternal mother, Donna Parent. J.J. graduated from Missisquoi Valley Union High School and enjoyed country music and spending time in the hot tub.
Despite his severe disabilities, J.J. will be remembered especially by his parents as the “greatest little boy” and their “sweetheart”.
In addition to his parents, Pierre and Dianne of Highgate, and his maternal mother, Donna Parent of Massena, New York, J.J. leaves his paternal grandparents, Clement and Gloria Ferland of Highgate; maternal grandfather, Raymond Parent and his wife, Charlotte, of Enosburgh; brothers and sisters, Suezie Mashteare and husband, Richard, of Highgate, Mindy Gagne and husband, Kevin, of Highgate, Crystal Ferland Couture and husband, Hanzie, of Bedford, Quebec, Travis Ferland and companion, Cindy Royea, of Bedford, Adam and Bruce Catudal of Westford and Jonathan and Stephanie Daple of Bedford, Quebec as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. Father Luke P. Austin will officiate. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Ferland family lot in Saint Louis Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lamkin Street, Highgate Center.
