MILTON —  Jacqueline Ann Bilodeau, 72, entered into eternal peace on March 20, 2015 at home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy.

Jackie was born on Aug. 28, 1942 in Sheldon, Vt., the daughter of the late Donald and Kathleen Hale Young.  She graduated from BFA, St. Albans in 1960.  She married the love of her life, Rene Jean Bilodeau on July 17, 1961. Together they created an extraordinary life filled with steadfast faith in God, family, friends and fun.

Devotion to her family encompassed generations of loved ones. With a personality bigger than life she always found the joke, heartfelt word, or small gesture that touched everyone around her.

Jackie was an incredible mother raising four daughters, Kassie, Dawn, Kelly and Keely.  Her nurturing and unconditional love filled the lives of her grandchildren, Jon-Rene Bilodeau and his friend Trina Rodd, Matthew Daigneault, Michael Daigneault and his wife, Jessica, Joshua Jewett and friend Courtney, Rachel Stanhope, Jacob Gruver, Gabrielle Gruver, Olivia Lamphere, Allie Meilleur and fiancé, Chris Preston, Matt Meilleur and friend Heather, Taylor Meilleur, Carter, Gianna, Rose and Aiden.

Jackie was an accomplished business woman. Rene’s Discount Beverage in Milton was established with her husband in 1978. Jackie continued building the business after the passing of Rene in 1995.  It remained the epicenter of the Milton community until her retirement in June 2012.  Jackie’s regular customers and employees were like family.  At any time Jackie could be found enjoying the lively company of a community that was drawn to her infectious joy and unwavering generosity. Rene’s continues in the spirit in which it was created with the Saini family who embraced Jackie with the utmost respect and caring for her life’s work.

Summers were enjoyed at her family lakeside retreat, “Camp.”  Fairfield Pond is engraved in the memory of many who enjoyed her hospitality as a gathering place for summer fun.

Jackie was happiest serving the needs of others, whether that be a hot cup of coffee and conversation, supporting the dreams of her children or sharing her wisdom with those who called her ‘Gramma.’

Jackie’s illness did not dampen her ability to capture the love of those caregivers who worked with her each day.  Each one of them has a special place in her heart.  Thanks to all our family at Home Health, Home Instead and Hospice for their exceptional care, support and love for Jackie.

She leaves behind daughters, Kassie Lamphere, Dawn Meilleur and husband, Rene, Kelly Gruver and husband, David, Keely Stanhope and husband, Ernie, Robert Lamphere. Brother Wayne Young and sister in law Marion.  Her brothers in law, Paul and his wife, Candace, Louis and wife, Jacqueline, Michael and wife, Mary Pat and Leo and his wife, Linda.
