The Fourth Annual Healthy Hearts, an activity focused health fair, drew more than 550 attendees this past Saturday, about 250 more than last year. Held at St. Albans City School, the event provided free health screenings, playtime activities, informational booths, interactive demonstrations and massage. Overall the event focuses on cardiovascular health, which is a serious problem locally. To that end, families enjoyed healthy snacks, too. The Northwestern Medical Center and Northwest Counseling & Support Services were organizers.
NMC’s Restaurant and Catering team provided the healthy snacks at Healthy Hearts, including fruit smoothies, fresh fruit, hummus dip and vegetables and blueberry flax muffins, all hand made and prepped by the team.
