SOUTH CAROLINA – July 12, 1944 – March 21, 2016 Graydon O. Robtoy, 71, of Myrtle Beach passed away Monday at his home after a year long battle with cancer.

He was born July 12, 1944 in Fairfield, son to the late Adelphis and Ruth (Ovitt) Robtoy.  On July 24, 1965 at St. Mary’s Church in Jewett City, Conn., he was married to Pauline (Langlois) Robtoy.  She survives him.

Graydon loved fishing. He worked racing greyhounds for 30 years.  He was a member of the N.G.A.(National Greyhound Association) from 1979-2015.  His greatest reward was running 1st and 2nd in the America Derby, Lincoln, R.I. in 1992.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Kevin Robtoy and his wife, Andrea, of Myrtle Beach; his daughter, Lori (Robtoy) Pellerin and her husband Steve, of Dayville; brothers, Adelphis Robtoy, Jr., Wayne Robtoy, Reginald Robtoy, Cordell Robtoy, and Phillip Robtoy; a sister, Buelah King; five grandchildren, Heather Merson, Tyler Pellerin, Kevin Robtoy, Kyle Robtoy and Kolby Robtoy; a great granddaughter, Cloe Robtoy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Leah Robtoy, two brothers and four sisters.

Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28, at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road, Jewett City, CT with a funeral service at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Griswold.  For online condolences please go to www.gagnepiechowski.com.
