SWANTON — Gordon Erwin Elwood, (nicknames Gordy/Jr.) 86, of Swanton, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 4, 2015. He was born on Jan. 14, 1928 in Highgate to the late Gordon S. and Marion (Chadwick) Elwood.

He served time in the Army. He moved to New Milford, Conn., and worked at the Nestle Co. and retired from Kimberly Clark Corp. prior to moving back to Vermont where he then worked for the St. Albans Messenger delivering the newspapers.

He is survived by his wife, Terry Elwood, and his children Royal, Raymond, Robert, Randy, Kelly and Tony Elwood and several step children, grand-kids, great grand kids and nieces and nephews. He also leaves his siblings Mary Parent, Floyd Elwood, Alyda Carpenter and Ilene Cooper and their families

He is preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Elwood in 1980, brother Eldon Elwood 2002 and sister Carolyn Bushey in 2011. There are no funeral arrangements at this time, cremation was done on Jan. 7, 2015.
