ST. ALBANS TOWN — Mrs. Gertrude L’Esperance Sheloski, age 94 years, died late Wednesday evening, Aug. 20, 2014, in the Franklin County Rehab Center with loving family at her side.

Born in Ste. Armand, Quebec Canada on Oct. 23, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Delphis and Germaine (Boucher) L’Esperance. She moved to the St. Albans area at an early age and graduated from the former Holy Angels Parochial School. On Nov. 25, 1940, she was married to Joseph Kostanty Sheloski who predeceased her on April 24, 2002.

For 64 years Mrs. Sheloski and her family lived in the Stratford, Conn., area where she worked over 20 years for the Lord Corporation. She returned to live in St. Albans in 2004 and became a member of the Franklin County Senior Citizens.

She leaves her devoted son, Stanley of St. Albans; seven brothers, Francis L’Esperance and his wife, Elaine, of Swanton, George and companion Pat Ryan of Sheldon, Gerard and wife, Rita, of St. Albans, Maurice and his wife “Sis” of St. Albans, Armand and wife, Betty, of Swanton, Laurent and wife, Penny, of Sheldon and Raymond and his companion, Lynda Ryan, of St. Albans; a sister-in-law, Tessie Sheloski of Ira as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Joseph, she was predeceased by a brother Edward and a sister, Alma Harvey and her husband, Howard.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday Aug. 23, 2014, at 11 a.m. from Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church 241 Lake St. St. Albans City. Father Maurice J. Roy will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Sheloski family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton today, (Friday), from 4 to 7 p.m.
