ENOSBURG FALLS — Georgette G. Gervais, age 93, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 at the Burlington Health and Rehab Facility. She was born July 21, 1921 in Richford, the daughter of the late George and Amanda J. (Cote) Godin.
She was a resident of Enosburg Falls and Richford most of her life and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls and the Ladies of St. Ann Society. She was employed at the former Whiting’s Flower Shop as a bookkeeper for 14 years, a cook at the Dairy Center for 13 years, and owned and operated a greenhouse on the Boston Post Road for 14 years.
Georgette enjoyed creating many different types of crafts especially painting and cornhusk dolls, which she took to peddle at craft shows. She also made wedding cakes and gardened. She took great pride in refurbishing statues at many of the area Catholic churches.
She is survived by her children, Helen Bushey and her husband, Donald, of Bakersfield, Robert Gervais and his wife, Gisele, of Enosburgh, Marcel Gervais and his wife, Donna, of Swanton, Carol Ann Wickert and her husband, Dean, of Palm Coast, Fla., and Rose-Marie Manahan and her husband, Timothy, of Grand Isle; 26 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren; two nephews and one niece. Besides her parents, Georgette was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon Garrow in 1947; her second husband, Antonio Gervais in 1983; her sisters, Marie Rose Brouillette, Aurora Peters and Mable Godin.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 222 Missisquoi St, Enosburg Falls with Rev. Roger Charbonneau celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Richford.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
